You’ve just been through a breakup. It hurts. You can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t stop thinking about them. You feel like you’ll never love again.

I’ve been there. And I’m here to tell you: you will love again. But first, you need to rebuild.

Here’s my post?breakup playbook – the steps that helped me go from heartbroken to whole.

SUBHEADING: The “Grief” Phase – Allow Yourself to Feel

For the first week, just survive. Eat something. Take a shower. Get out of bed. Let yourself cry. Let yourself be angry.

Don’t try to “move on” immediately. You can’t outrun grief. You have to walk through it.

SUBHEADING: The “Release” Phase – Get Rid of the Reminders

After a week, start the hard work:

  • Delete their photos. You can keep one or two memories, but not in your phone.
  • Remove them from social media. You can’t heal if you’re still watching.
  • Pack away their things. Put gifts, clothes, and mementos in a box. You can decide later if you want to keep them.

SUBHEADING: The “Rebuild” Phase – Create a New Identity

You were “we” for a long time. Now you’re “me.” Who is that?

  • Try new hobbies. Things you’ve always wanted to try but never did.
  • Reconnect with friends. The ones you neglected during the relationship.
  • Travel. Even a weekend trip can change your perspective.
  • Go to therapy. The best investment you can make.

SUBHEADING: The “Open” Phase – When You’re Ready

After three to six months, you may feel ready to date again. Not to replace your ex – to meet someone new.

  • Don’t look for your ex. You won’t find them. You’ll find someone different.
  • Don’t rush. Take it slow. Get to know people without pressure.
  • Stay grounded. Remember what you learned from the breakup. Don’t repeat the same patterns.

SUBHEADING: Real Single, Real Result

I used this playbook after my own breakup. The first month was hell. The second month was a blur. By the third month, I was laughing again. By the sixth month, I was excited to date.

A year later, I met my current partner. I didn’t think it was possible. But it was.

SUBHEADING: The “Post?Breakup” Myth – You Will Love Again

Heartbreak feels permanent. It’s not. It’s a chapter, not the whole story.

Your next step: Start with the “Release” phase. Delete the photos, block the social media, pack away the memories. It hurts, but it’s the first step to healing.
